Then arrange the Puja materials like incense sticks, flowers, sweets, Roli, Gangajal, fruits, etc. Light a diya with desi ghee and apply a tilak to the idols.

The Puja ceremony consists of offering prayers, reciting bhajans and spirituals songs, and chanting mantras. The mantras for Ram Navami include, "श्री राम जय राम जय जय राम", "ॐ राम रामाय नमः”, and "ॐ दाशरथाये विद्महेजानकी वल्लभ्याय धीमहि तन्नो राम प्रचोदयात".  

The fasting rules include having only Satvik food and avoiding tamasic food, onion, and garlic. The Satvik food consists of fruits, dry fruits, Kuttu ki Puri, Curd, and Sabudana Khichdi. The devotees also visit Lord Shree Ram temples, where special arrangements have been made. In some cities, such as Ayodhya, the huge processions with idols of Lord Ram, Mata Sita, Lakshmana, and Lord Bajrangbali are carried on the adorned chariots.
